Our Highland 1615 Scottish Ale is a great choice for those who love a rich, malty ale. This full-bodied brew is uplifted by slightly sweet caramel and coffee flavours. Our unique addition of Maris Otter base malt provides a nuttiness, rich reddish-brown colour and more body than those made with simple pale malt.

A Scottish (Scotch) ale is typically a dark beer that originated in Edinburgh, Scotland during the 1800s. It’s made through the combination of different grains, sugars and — most importantly — malt. Resulting in a rich and complex flavour.
This style of beer is often contrasted with the English style of beer, as it is more full-bodied than an English ale. The hops used are also more earthy as opposed to the English hops, which are more floral.
